NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS

Hello!

Firstly I'd like to say I hope you had a lovely Christmas and got what you wanted, and secondly I'd like to apologise for how late this post is uploaded because I've had a busy week, and not had much time to write up anything special.

Today I'm going to be telling you my New Years resolutions. Most of these are your standard NY resolutions, but a few are my own personal ones I want to achieve.

1. Eat healthier food.
Every year I set myself the task of trying to eat healthier, and I attempted it this year until I realised how big my disliking for salad was, which infact made me throw up after eating a plate of ceaser salad-oops. Anyway, this year I aim to only eat healthy foods, and have 1/2 days a week in which I will be able to eat unhealthy snacky foods (chocolate, sweets, bacon). At the moment i'm going quite well with eating healthily, and persuaded myself to pick a salad over a pudding which was a nightmare to eat, because I really do not like salad, however I made myself eat it and felt good about myself after.

2. Go to the gym.
At the moment I do a 20 minute workout daily just before I go to bed and I just use apps on my phone for the workout, however I think it's time I hit the gym and used proper equipment for once. I do have a rowing machine and exercise ball at home which I use, but I don't feel quite in the right atmosphere working out at home so I think I'd benefit more from going to a proper, kitted out gym. The reason I want to go to the gym is not to lose weight, but to gain muscle and tone up. I am quite muscly in my legs, torso, and arms because of dance and previous activities I did, but I want to get proper muscle and in shape.

3. Use less heat on my hair.
Currently, I don't use heat on my hair very often compared to how much I used to, but I'd still like to get out the habit of straightening/curling my hair and let it sit naturally. Not long ago I really discovered the dangers of using heat on hair, and the effects of long-term use really are frightening; some of which I don't want to happen to me. In previous months I have straightened my hair non-stop for weeks, aswell as curling it, but I am slowly getting out of that habit and only using heat for certain occasions, or if my hair is looking completely mental.

4. Make the most of opportunities.
I sometimes feel as though I'm not taking on all the opportunities that are thrown at me, and take for granted what I can do in life which others can't. I would like to accept any non life-threatening opportunity thrown at me, whether that be going somewhere knowing hardly anyone and having to interact/make new friends, or do something out of my comfort zone and possibly find a hidden talent.

5. Get a tan.
I know this sounds like something silly to put on a NY resolutions list, and isn't really a resolution at all, but I really would like a tan. As I'm going on holiday this year 2-3 times to hot, tanning locations, I'd really like to come back with a brown tone to my skin. For me tanning isn't the easiest as I have fair hair and sensitive skin, so I burn indefinitely, but I don't like the thought of fake-tanning because it doesn't always turn out the best, and can sometimes look really tacky.

Happy New Year!

SUMMER HAS ARRIVED

Hello!

Summer holidays have finally arrived for me, and everyone who is still at school, which means it's time to take some action on what I want to complete throughout the holidays, and my goals.

1. Get more flexible.
During my week, I do 4 different styles of dance which I love with a passion, however I feel as though dance would be alot easier, and less tiring if I was more flexible, and could do the splits without feeling any pain. To do this I will take out roughly 30 minutes/1 hour of my time a day to stretch, and work out to get myself stronger, and more flexible, but all I need now is the motivation.

2. Paint my bedside cabinet & wardrobe.
This sounds quite silly to include on a goals list, but my room is based around the colours pink, cream, and white, but before I decided on a definite colour scheme for my room, my mum got me some medium-dark oak furniture consisting of a wardrobe, and bedside cabinet. As much as I love them both, they don't look right in my room at all-this annoys me alot, so I came up with the solution of painting them. The plan is to get some white paint that leaves a vintage look to the furniture so they don't look too white, and paint the furniture, however this means I have to take everything out my wardrobe and bedside cabinet to paint the items which will take a long time.

3. Eat more fruit.
At the moment, I eat about 1-2 pieces of fruit a day which isn't very good of me, and considering it's Summer meaning more home grown produce, I should be eating more. I'm the sort of person that prefers fruit to vegetables by a mile, but this doesn't motivate me to eat more fruit instead of snacking on unhealthy foods. Hopefully, as it is the Summer holidays I can access the garden more frequently as I won't be at school being able to get fresh fruit from the garden, and not be put off by shop bought fruit.

4. Customize old clothes.
I appear to have quite alot of old clothing items that I don't wear, but are too good to throw out, meaning there is only 1 way to resolve this-customize my stuff. There are the easy options to jazz up my old clothes by adding studs, dyeing, or ombreing clothes, but this is quite a mainstream thing to do nowadays, and I want to be abit more original, so I have the ideas of adding fringing, sewing chains around the necklines, adjusting the length, changing the buttons for something more exciting, or even add some pockets onto old clothes, the possibilities are endless! I now need to come up with ideas, and buy items needed for customizing.

5. Wear brighter lipstick.
This is also an odd thing to have on a goals list, however the sun is out alot more, and I'm still wearing a nude shade of lipgloss (don't judge me). I'd love to start experimenting with brighter colours, and make my appearance brighter and more colourful for the Summer atmosphere. Alot of people seem to like the Kate Moss lipsticks, and admittedly they do look like a really nice, colourful range, so I may buy one of those. All I need is the confidence to go out wearing a bright lip, without worrying about what people think. I also need to apply this wearing bright lipstick rule with clothes aswell because, my wardrobe is almost full of black, white, grey, and blue clothes which is too normal, and dull for Summer. If you saw my last wishlist, I did have some quite bright clothes on there which I may possibly purchase for the season.

6. Go outside.
School has isolated me from the sun, and I don't like this. Even though I don't like the really hot temperatures, before I know it the heat will be gone and we're back to the Winter/Autumn cold, and I would want the heat back immediately. I think the reason I don't spend much time outside, apart from school, is the fact I don't have anything to do outside because I'm a mole that lives in a study on the computer. I need to get into a book, or find something to occupy me outside so I get a good source of vitamin D, without feeling as though I'm about to melt away.

7. Use my Wreck This Journal more.
Last year, I got a Wreck This Journal, and for the first few weeks I was really into it and did quite alot of things it in, however I seem to have abandoned it as time has gone on which saddens me. When I first got the journal I was really excited to get creative and let my reckless side out, but now I waste my time on the internet instead when I could be doing more fun things like using my Wreck This Journal. Over the Summer, I will try to use my journal more, and not leave it in my room by itself.

These are just a few of the main things I want to complete this holiday, and I'll be keeping you updated on how I'm getting along with my goals list.
