HOLLAND

Hello!

If you read my last post then you would've known I went to Amsterdam in Holland on Tuesday, and I must say the city is just wonderful. It did feel quite weird seeing the amount of bikes they had, and the fact people used them to get around, but in a way it made Amsterdam look more rustic and pretty.

(Apologies for the photo quality as the photos were taken on my Iphone because I didn't want to risk losing my Canon 550D).

Whilst there we went to the Rijks Art Museum, Anne Frank Huis, Madame Tussaud's, Gassan Diamond Factory, a few markets/shops, and we even went on a pizza cruise.

The Rijks Art Museum was very interesting and inspiring, but if you don't like art then it wouldn't be as entertaining.  However, we did get lost alot of the time because it was just so big, and we didn't look round the whole place as we would've been there for about 4 hours.

Most people know the Anne Frank story, and we got the chance to see inside the house her and her family stayed in, it was so heartbreaking, and very emotional. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed in the Annex, but we did get to see pages from her diary and they were so sad, however we also weren't allowed to take pictures as this could damage the pages with the flash.

On our second to last day we all went to Madame Tussaud's as it was a 1 minute walk from our hotel, and we wanted to spend the last full day doing something we could all enjoy. Madame Tussaud's was an incredible experience, seeing the work put into the wax work figures was amazing, I would definitely go again, but to the London one as the one we went to had quite a few dutch celebrities and I had no idea who they were.

In Madame Tussaud's I saw many famous faces such as Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Adele, David Beckham, Marilyn Monroe, and I even got a selfie with Bob Marley!

Gassan is one of the popular jewellery companies in Amsterdam, and they had a tour on how the diamonds are made, so we went there and we saw some very very expensive things. Whilst there I got to try on 2 rings made from real diamonds and they were absolutely gorgeous:

€500                                                                                €2945
Through photos it's hard to appreciate how beautiful they were, but the rings were so lovely (and expensive).

Also in Amsterdam, I did do a little bit of shopping, because I just couldn't resist it. I will do another blog post on what I bought because this post would end up going on forever as I got quite alot of things, oops.

A pizza cruise may sound odd, but it's pretty self explanatory, you have pizza whilst cruising around Amsterdam. Altogether the cruise was 1 hour 40 mins, and half way through we stopped off to get the pizza delivered to our boat, and ate it looking at the wonderful sights of Amsterdam.

One of the many things I loved about Amsterdam was the food and drink, it was all so tasty and delicious, I didn't have anything I didn't enjoy.

The hot chocolates (Chocomel) were delicious, the Coconut cocktail was amazing, the chocolate milkshake was heaven, and the burgers were just perfect, I have no faults with any food or drink I had.

After being in such a beautiful city I feel really depressed now being back in my home town, and want to be back in Amsterdam. When we arrived home everyone sat in the kitchen in silence as we were so stuck on what to do with ourselves. Hopefully we can go back again, because it was so good!
