HOLOGRAHIC NAIL VARNISH

If you saw my haul from Oxford Street shopping you would've realized that I purchased Urban Outfitters' Holographic nail varnish, and I thought the nail varnish was too amazing to not review.

 

Firstly, the nail polish comes in quite a big pot compared to the size in which nail varnishes usually come in, so it lasts for a long time. Also, the nail varnish lasts a long time because you really only need 1 coat-yes that's 1 coat! It is rare to find a nail varnish that only requires 1 coat and this is it. The varnish glides along the nail so easily and I find it very hard to muck my nails up when using this as it's got such a good applicator.

Secondly, I have found it very hard to find a Holographic nail varnish considering it's not something shops such as Essie, Barry M, or any nail varnish retailers would sell, but thankfully Urban Outfitters provided me with the perfect Holographic varnish. The picture of my nails with the varnish on doesn't show exactly what the nail varnish does, what it does is in the sunlight or any light it creates an array of different colours on your nails. The only downside is that the nail varnish doesn't show the hologram effect in darkness as it's the light that triggers the polish.

In Urban Outfitters this is sold for £12, I do admit this is expensive for a nail varnish considering other brands sell varnishes for under £5, however this Holographic varnish is totally worth every penny. In addition, as there is no Urban Outfitters local to me, buying this was a necessity and for £12 I couldn't let the offer down. It is possible to get holographic nail varnishes cheaper than what I got mine for, however I had read previous reviews on Urban Outfitter's nail varnish and it seemed theirs was the best to buy. 

As I said, the nail varnish only requires 1 coat, you can add 2 coats for the extra holographic effect but I think just 1 does the trick. I don't know if this is just me, but I find when I apply more than 1 coat of a nail varnish it smudges easier and chips quicker because it is thicker, and as I wear kirby grips in my hair alot, seperating those out with my thumbs causes nail varnish to smudge and smear which is why I think only 1 coat of this is necessary.

I hope you think of possibly purchasing a holographic nail varnish, whether this be from Urban Outfitters or somewhere else because it is worth it.

FASHION DON'TS #2

It's time for Fashion Don'ts part 2, if you haven't seen part 1 you can find it here.

My first item is this Oriental Midi dress from Topshop. Recently, I have seen more longer style dresses coming back into fashion, but the pattern on this is too much. Being able to pull this off would be a miracle because the contrast of patterns on the dress looks too crowded, the black and white stripe patches clash with the oriental pattern, and the red beams going horizontally down the dress ruin the original pattern. In addition, what could you style this with?! A necklace would just make this outfit more havoc, and it would be hard to find a pair of shoes to match. It's a shame, because in my opinion I think the dress would've been an interesting, unique piece without the added patches and beams.
 

The next item is a V London White Butterfly Button Blouse from New Look, on sale for £19.99. The blouse half isn't too bad, but I have no idea why the button half was added because it really doesn't look right. The bottom half looks out of place, and doesn't do anything for the top at all. It looks extremely uncomfortable to wear as the bottom bit is fitted, and would sit in the middle of the stomach, and that would make me feel compacted into the top. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't be willing to pay £19.99, sorry New Look.

 My last and final item are these wolfpack shorts from Batoko. Batoko isn't a well known brand, I found out about it from Instagram and they do really quirky clothing on their website, however some of the shorts are too tacky- like these ones for example. In my opinion, these are over the top with the wolves and studs on, and I would be clueless on what to wear these with. The shorts are £80.00 which I think is a ridiculous amount for a pair of shorts with pictures of wolves on and a few studs, sorry Batoko but these aren't worth the money.

If anyone owns these clothing items, or has a liking towards any then don't take offense as it's just my opinion which doesn't matter.

SAMPLE SIZES

Today I am going to be reviewing 3 sample sized products out of the many I have. I love sample size things because they're so good for trying new products, and don't cost a thing!

As you can see I have quite a lot of samples which I am eager to try out, however I am going to be reviewing only 3 of my selection. These are: Clarins Eau Des Jardins shower gel, Eaudemoiselle, and Nivea Soft.

My first product is an 'uplifting shower gel' made by Clarins, this shower gel does exactly what it says on the packaging, 'wakes up the senses and leaves the skin smooth and soft,' I couldn't agree more at the fact it does wake you up with it's subtle citrusy scent, and also very moisturising on the skin. I would love to purchase this in full size, however it is £19 and I currently don't have that on me, maybe in the future I will buy a full size. All of the Clarins products are so lovely, and the ladies at the Clarins counters are always so helpful when mum and I visit one, if you don't have anything from Clarins then I really recommend something from their line.

My next sample is Eaudemoiselle by Givenchy, I got this in Glamour magazine which I am subscribed to, and receive a copy of every month. Describing a scent is very hard, and is much easier to just smell the scent itself, however I will try my hardest to describe Eaudemoiselle. The perfume has a very floral/citrus scent to it, and almost smells like the Clarins uplifting shower gel, although you can smell the flowers more in the Givenchy scent. Currently, I don't own any Givenchy perfumes, but looking at the fragrances I really want one-the packaging is just so feminine and regal!

My last sample is the Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream, as you may know I am quite a big fan when it comes to moisturising, I moisturise at nearly every opportunity which is a tad odd I must say. Anyway, this moisturiser is a delight to use! It has no harsh chemicals in and doesn't have any extra additives for a fragranced smell, In addition it absorbs into the skin leaving it looking fresh and clean-sometimes moisturisers look very oily and greasy which is the last thing I want on my body. I really love Nivea Soft, and I am going to purchase a full size pot of this, it really is worth it and I'm very glad I got to try out the sample.

May I just like to add that I love samples!
