WOULD YOU WEAR: MOM JEANS

Hello!

I've decided to start a series called 'Would You Wear.' I have seen some other bloggers do these sort of posts, and thought I'd do my own.

Mom jeans have recently made an appearance back into fashion, and my 'mom' said they were jeans she used to wear when she was younger, so they aren't anything new.

These jeans may look like an ordinary pair of jeans in the picture, but they're baggier than they look. Mom jeans are very loose fitting and towards the bottom the jeans are turned up and sit loosely half way up the shins, which makes them really comfortable because they aren't stuck to your legs whereas skinny jeans are.

Personally, I really like Mom jeans, I think they're really edgy, and unique as not many people wear them. I have a pair of Mom jeans from Asos Marketplace, and I really like the look of them, although they do look quite baggy on me because my body frame is small and the trousers look as if they drown me, but they don't.

Mom jeans are available from most on-trend fashion shops such as, Topshop, River Island, Asos, maybe New Look, Urban Outfitters and Levi's. However, they are quite expensive, mine were £28, for a pair of jeans this isn't too bad, but you could've probably got them from somewhere else for cheaper.

Here's how I would style Mom jeans:

I'd style the Mom jeans with a plain white crop top, black Dr Martens, rounded sunglasses, and a chunky chain necklace. Pairing the jeans with a white top makes the outfit look plain, so I added a statement piece necklace to jazz up the outfit. To contrast against the white I added black Dr Martens, these are also quite bland, but they have a wet look effect on them making the outfit have a different texture on it's appearance. To add a touch of class, I've added in some rounded sunglasses, these are currently on-trend, and add some sophistication to the outfit.

I'm aware that these jeans aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I'm really attracted to them, and before judging the appearance of them, I think people should at least try them on, because you might surprise yourself and like the look of the jeans on you.

Would you wear Mom jeans?

MAYBELLINE BABY LIPS

Hello!

If you saw my Wishlist #3, I posted about wanting a Baby Lips lip balm in Peach Kiss, and I've now got one (all of them). As these are the current craze, I thought I'd do a review on the lip balms, enjoy!

As you can see, I have all 6 of the Baby Lips lip balms, and I'm not disappointed in any of them. The lip balms come in 6 different varieties which are, Mint Fresh, Intense Care, Hydrate, Pink Punch, Peach Kiss, and Cherry Me. In the set, you can get 3 non-coloured ones, or 3 coloured ones, I think it's good that not all of the lip balms are coloured, because I don't like my lips to have a colour on them all the time. Also, some men may want to buy one of these, and if they were all coloured then Maybelline would lose some audience!

Anyway, 5 of the lip balms have a distinct smell to them, the Hydrate one doesn't have any smell to it, because it's just a pure lip balm. However, Pink Punch smells of bubblegum, Peach Kiss smells of peach, Mint Fresh smells of mint, Cherry Me smells of cherries, and Intense Care smells of pineapple. What I smell may be different to what you smell, so don't rely on what I've said, it's obvious that 3 of them would smell of mint, cherry, and peach because it's in their name, however I'm not too sure if Pink Punch and Intense Care were intending to smell of bubblegum and pineapple.

Not only do these lip balms smell amazing, they all work exceptionally well. Each of the lip balms live up to it's name, and I really like the colour the 3 coloured ones translate onto the lip. Cherry Me is quite a sheer deep pink, compared to Pink Punch that is abit more matte, but still has abit of shine and a light pink tone to it. As you can see, Peach Kiss has a nude/brown/golden tone to it, this looks nicer on the lip than it does in the packaging, because personally I think it looks quite an off putting, unattractive colour, but it isn't. Also, all the lip balms are extremely moisturizing, and last quite long, but I don't agree with Maybelline stating that they stay on for 8 hours because mine comes off in about 3/4 hours.

What caught my eye mostly about these is the packaging, which is what made me want to buy them all. They're all so colourful, and look adorable all lined up together (you know you need help when you're talking about lip balms looking cute). Anyway, the contrast of the two colours on each lip balm packaging makes this range stand out a lot compared to other lip products, because they are so bright.

Lastly, the value of each lip balm is quite good aswell, they're £2.99 each, but Boots and Superdrug are doing a 3 for 2 offer which is how I've been purchasing them, although I think £2.99 is a little too much for one lip balm. In my opinion, these should be individually priced at £1.50/£2, but I'm not Maybelline so I can't choose the pricing!

If you don't have one of these lip balms, I suggest you go out and buy one because they are fantastic and look adorable!

WISHLIST #3

Hello!

It's the first of September today, this year has gone so quickly! I decided I'd do a beauty wishlist because I haven't done one of these in a while, and I've seen a few products recently that I'd love to try.

The first item on my wishlist is indeed a nude lipstick, me, a nude lipstick? What? A youtuber I watch wears this in most her videos, and I think it's the nicest nude I've ever seen. In the picture it doesn't look too flattering, but on the lips it's not a wash you out nude, it leaves alot of shine on the lips not making you look lip-less. I don't own a nude lipstick, and I really like the look of this one, so that's why I have put it on my wishlist.

I have wanted this pigment for a long long time now because I love highlighting my face, and I use liquid highlight for my brow bones, cupids bow, cheek bones etc, and it runs out so quickly because I use it everyday. However, this pigment looks as if it would last a long time because it's a powder, meaning it will spread along the face easier so I won't have to use as much.

The first Barry M item on my wishlist is one of the nail varnishes' from Barry M's confetti nails. I'm not usually one for using effects on my nails because I think it makes my nails looks messy, but I tried this in Superdrug and it looks so nice, and really spruces up nail varnish! Although, I wouldn't use this over all my nails, just as an accent nail because I would feel it's too crowded for my liking.

My second Barry M product is a nail varnish in a baby blue colour. I don't own any nail varnish from Barry M, only Gelly and effect nail varnishes, however I feel really drawn towards this one. I would like to try one of their original nail varnishes, because everyone says they're good, and in general I really like this colour.

I didn't even know The Body Shop sold make-up, but apparently they do, and I found out this product from a friend. The little powder balls are meant to add radiance, and a glow to your face, but not an overpowering glow. I have tried this once, and it is so good, the radiance stayed on my face for the whole day, and made a lovely impact on my face.

Never have I ever used a bronzer in my life, but after seeing people wear bronzer in the Summer, and seeing the beautiful sunkist look, I really want one. I don't know what bronzers are good or not, but I have heard a few people mention this one before, and I want to try it to see how it looks. Although, before I make the definite decision of purchasing this, I might try it out in Superdrug/Boots first.

Currently, for my eyeliner I use a felt liner because I thought this was an easy way of getting a smooth line without any smudges or smears like an eyeliner pencil, however the sound of a gel eyeliner intrigues me. I've heard gel eyeliner is meant to last longer than an ordinary eyeliner, which is always a good thought, and apparently gel eyeliner creates better lines too?

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the packaging on this lip balm please. I don't know what it is, but I adore the packaging for all the Baby lips lip balms, I think it's the bright colours that get to me. Anyway, these lip balms appear to be the new craze, and I really want to get one (all of them), they sound very promising, and because I like peach alot, I'd love to try the peach one.

Well, this is a contrast from the first item in my wishlist isn't it! A Chanel lipstick in a super duper bright pink, phwoar. For starters, the word Chanel excites me, and secondly, pink is my favourite colour so I may have just found Heaven. On my Summer Goals list, I mentioned about wearing brighter lipstick, and I have been doing just that, however this takes bright to a whole new level. Whether I would have the confidence to wear this is a mystery, but I would love to say I own a bright pink Chanel lipstick and review it.

10. YSL Touche Eclat complexion highlighter
Summer Holidays = No school = Less sleep = Bags under my eyes. If you're on a Summer break, then this rule will probably apply to you. I make the mistake of staying up too late at night watching movies, and wake up the next morning with horrific bags, and this YSL Touche Eclat complexion highlighter appears to be the answer to all of this. Touche Eclat is constantly being mentioned by beauty addicts about how good it is, and that's enough to make me want to try it to get rid of those Summer under eye bags, and not only does it conceal, it also highlights!

Oh how I wish I could have all of this, but I know it would be very bad of me to buy all of it, however I will certainly be making a few purchases of these products, so keep your eyes peeled for a review!

What products are you wanting at the moment?
