TOPSHOP HAUL

Ciao!

I went shopping yesterday which means haul time! On my shopping trip, I went to quite a lot of shops, and bought quite a lot of things. The haul today will be on the Topshop items I purchased, and next Thursday I will do a haul on the other items.

As you can see I got 4 tops, 1 pair of shorts, a necklace, and some socks. Unfortunately the space rocket top was in the clearance section so it will be very unlikely you will be able to buy the top, aswell as the striped shorts. 

I adore Topshop, and all the clothes sold there are magnificent. The prices are quite high, but then again the clothes are in great quality and worth the cash. Also, Topshop are always up to date with the latest fashion and are always bang on trend, if you've never shopped at Topshop before-or even gone in it, I strongly recommend you browse around!

If you saw my Weekly Wishlist on Topshop I have managed to purchase 1 of the tops on there which was the Roll Back Crop Tee, but I did get a shorter version of the Stripe Trousers.

The space rocket top may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's super cool. The top is quite unusual and I haven't seen many people out and about wearing a similar top! When I first picked up the top I wasn't too sure what I would wear it with, but I wear it with some jeans or some plain leggings. If I were to wear the top with patterened leggings or coloured jeans, it would be too much and most likely clash.

Topshop are most popular for supplying people with the cutest socks ever. The frilly socks that are sold in Topshop are adorable, the amount of pairs I own is unreal. They have so many different colours, if I could own all the colours/styles I would! I wear mine with creepers, and as I have plain black ones all the colours and style of socks go with them.

 If you don't own a pair of frilly socks from Topshop I suggest you go out and buy them, sometimes they do offers like 3 socks for £5 which is good considering the socks are really lovely!

Short Story

Basically, whilst mum and I were browsing in New Look, I found a bag that I liked and wanted to buy, so I put it on my arm. We went up to the till to pay for the other items then left- unnoticably I had walked out with the bag that I didn't pay for, so we quickly ran back to the queue and paid for it, phew! (None of us are thieves). Thank-god I noticed that it was still on my arm otherwise we would have been taken to the Police Station to be questioned for theft!

MAKING CUPCAKES

I hope you all had a lovely weekend, what did you get up too? Well, I made Vanilla Cupcakes, so that's what this post will be about-How to make Vanilla Cupcakes. My blog isn't about cooking, but I thought this would be something nice and different for you all.

Preparation time: Less than 30 minutes.

Cooking time: 10 to 30 minutes maximum.

  Ingredients

• 110g/4oz butter or margarine, softened at room temperature 
• 110g/4oz caster sugar
• 2 free-range eggs, lightly beaten 
• 1 tsp vanilla extract 
• 110g/4oz self-raising flour 
• 1-2 tbsp milk

For the buttercream icing 

• 140g/5oz butter, softened 
• 280g/10oz icing sugar 
• 1-2 tbsp milk 
• a few drops food colouring

Note

Depending on the size of your cupcake tin and cases can change how many cupcakes you will get out of the mixture. I got 8 cupcakes from the mix, but my cupcake tray holes were quite big. 

 

Method

1.  Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4 and line a 12-hole muffin/cupcake tin with paper cases.
2.  Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until pale by hand. Beat in the eggs a little at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.
3.  Fold in the flour using a large metal spoon, adding a little milk until the mixture is of a dropping consistency. Spoon the mixture into the paper cases until they are half full.
4.  Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden-brown on top and a skewer inserted into one of the cakes comes out clean. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack.
 5. For the buttercream icing, beat the butter in a large bowl until soft. Add half the icing sugar and beat until smooth.
6.  Then add the remaining icing sugar with one tablespoon of the milk, adding more milk if necessary, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
7.  Add the food colouring and mix until well combined.
8.  Spoon the icing into a piping bag with a star nozzle and wait until the cupcakes are cool before piping.
9.  Once the cupcakes are cool pipe the icing using a spiralling motion onto the cupcakes in a large swirl.

10.  Add any decoration you want onto the cupcakes and make them your own!

Here's how mine turned out:

I made my icing mint green, and used the icing colour you get before adding any colourings, I also added some little sprinkles on the top because they made the cupcakes look very cute! (Please take note I am not a chef or amazing at piping so i'm sure yours will look much better). For the icing I used a piping bag from Tala which you can buy here, the set comes with 8 nozzles, a piping bag, and a tin to keep it all in.

Cupcakes are great for any ocassion, you can decorate them to fit in with whatever occasion-If it's a Wedding then you can do cupcakes with white buttercream icing, and decoration on top to match the theme colour in the Wedding. If you were doing the cupcakes for easter then you could do yellow, pink, and purple buttercream icing (the colours of mini eggs) with mini eggs and chicks on top. There are endless possibilities on how you could decorate cupcakes which is what's so great about them!

WEEKLY WISHLIST : RIVER ISLAND

It's time for another Weekly Wishlist! My last wishlist was 10th February which you can find here, and as it has been a week since I published that one so it's time for another. 

Today I am going to be doing my wishlist in River Island, I don't usually shop in RI, and I'm not too sure why. Anyway, here are my top 10 items:

10. Gold Tone Long Cross Necklace

My favorite item would have to be the Shorts.They just look so clean cut and pretty, also the shorts go with every colour so you can just put on any colour top, and it would match. Acid wash clothing items really seem to be in this season, I see quite alot of people wearing acid wash jeans and I think they look really nice. 

I'm not too sure how people acid wash clothing items, I have an image in my head of people dipping their clothes in acid-literally, I think I may be wrong though.

 I also really like the Cross Necklace. The necklace might just seem plain and your average jewellery item, but this would also go with most things, and add that extra shine to an outfit. The necklace would go well with the boyfriend tshirt because the tshirt is very plain and adding the necklace would make the outfit more interesting.

I love Bomber Jackets. Currently, I have 2 Bomber Jackets and I am in love with them. One of my Bomber Jackets is black with white bows on, and the other is covered in japanese match boxes and matches. What I love about the Bomber Jacket in my wishlist is that the sleeves are a different material to the rest of the jacket, the Bomber Jackets I have have the same material throughout the jacket, but the one from River Island has different materials and make the jacket more interesting as the middle part is a plain silk-not patterned.

I am going shopping on Wednesday, if I go to River Island I might buy one of the items in my top 10. As I am going shopping, I will most likely do a haul of what I bought for you all to see.
